Kvitova is very talented but she needs to work on her fitness and concentration. She has the talent to dominate but I am not sure if she has the mind.
and it’s more exposed outdoors, in heat, and in humidity….which is 90% of the tennis season…it’s going to be hard to become no. 1 when you can only play your best tennis consistently on grass and indoors….you basically have to win those tournaments all the time no matter what, and continue to at least get deep in almost every other event you play.
In fact, based on current form, Radwanska will knock her out of the top 3 before Wimbledon.
@twarren20 It is not about being biased. As I have already written below, Azarenka hit just one winner in the second set. Since any tennis highlight reel (here, on YouTube) consists almost exclusively of winners, you get what you get.
I love when Kvitova “barks” and at same time the opponent is walking slowly digesting the lost point.. Even more cool when she does it vs Azarenka or Sharapova.
I really hope Kvitova gets well soon from her injury and resumes her domination.
Ok, stupid highlights…why in the 2nd set were these highlights only showing Kvitova’s winners but Azarenka games were going up…don’t be biased in the damn highlights…
@thegreendestiny She hit 1 winner and made 0 unforced errors. :-)) … … O.K., actually it is true but in fact, she started really well winning the first eight points of the second set; Petra’s level also dropped a little bit – she made significantly more UEs than in the (almost perfect) first set. After all it was sort of surprising that the difference in the second set was just one break.
Guys, now Vika very powerfull player, isn`t she? Her serve became more dangerous, her BH is AWSM. She is prepared physically very well. Maybe Vika don`t play smart, combination tennis like Aga, but she perfectly understands strategy of her opponent. And she the best baseline player IMHO. I hope she will win many titles this year.
@Goldthehedgehog11 She started the year at 34. She was seeded 25th at the Australian because she improved her ranking from 34 to 28 after winning Brisbane. (Serena and two others [I don’t remember] did not play)
She was actually nr. 35 at the end of 2010. Wozniacki won 6 tournamenst this year. So did Petra. Both won one small tournament (Copenhagen, Linz respectively), the rest were the big ones. But Kvitová won Wimbledon and finnished the year by winning WTA Champs in Istanbul and led the Czechs to win Fed Cup. Price money: Wozniacki 3 mil USD, Kvitová 5 mil USD. The two met only once this year, Kvitová won. She has the most wins over Top 10 and Top 5 players. NOT ENOUGH GLAMOUR TO BE NR. 1 ?!?!
Skurvená piča vrieska ako prijebaná, s takou jebnutou kravou by som proste odmietol hrať, nech hraju proti sebe normálne hráčky a potom piče, ktoré hulákajú.
@orbitalwarrior I agree about Azarenka I don’t see what the media are talking about. Azarenka has power but her serve I feel is not a weapon it isn’t strong. I also think Azarenka has a problem with her desire and motivation. She retired five times this year from matches that’s unacceptable. Azarenka’s needs to improve her fitness, her mind, and also her strategy. Azarenka can play doubles she’s won a few mixed doubles slams she needs to come to net more.

she won’t recover from asthma…it’s chronic.

@saroj1am This has to be the most lopsided 3-set match I have ever seen.

@Goldthehedgehog11 Yup! And she’s only just over a hundred points behind Wozniacki. The start of the next season will be VERY interesting..
