Kvitova Video clip Rating: 4 / 5[/random]

Maria’s pre shoulder surgery groundstrokes are incredibly fluid. Even now it is very technically good. Kvitova’s backswing on her strong makes it appear fluid when in reality it is way too big a backswing but it works for her so kudos.

she makes more aces than Serena on any given day? lol, have you seen wimbledon this year?

  • By Wuju MasterYi, September 14, 2012 @ 6:32 pm

well what can u say shes a leftie

  • By ctn04132, September 14, 2012 @ 7:30 pm

exactly, kvitova is a more fluid player like Davenport. Sharapova’s strokes are so ugly, especially her forehand. they look so akward and forced, it looks like her arms are going to snap off!

  • By kelvinpyaeko, September 14, 2012 @ 8:04 pm

isn’t it that statement a joke? what’s wrong with me calling a spade a spade? ohh
and kvitova doesn’t hit 10 aces a match either. so what’s your point?

  • By iceescape, September 14, 2012 @ 8:29 pm

i praised kvitova and you insulted me for it and didn’t even bother quoting me correctly and then act like you are so smart. it’s quite lame. serena does not hit 10 aces a match and kvitova did happen to hit than many that match; that is the truth. i’m a serena fan but am also a big fan of kvitova. if you can’t deal with that that’s your problem. you seem like a very petty and immature person. i’m done dealing with you. good day.

  • By kelvinpyaeko, September 14, 2012 @ 8:40 pm

well, i wasn’t even accusing u of saying she is better than serena. read carefully. however, the statement that she hit more aces than serena on a day is not really true. how could I be a troll when i was actually praising her performance on this video? you FAIL

  • By iceescape, September 14, 2012 @ 8:45 pm

good for her; glad she is doing well. makes no difference in my original comment that kvitova during that match served more aces than serena on any given day. you took the last part out to serve your own purposes but that’s what trolls do.

  • By kelvinpyaeko, September 14, 2012 @ 9:31 pm

serena hit 12 aces in her 1st round match in AO 12 oopsie

  • By iceescape, September 14, 2012 @ 9:44 pm

she hit 10 aces in the match; when was the last time serena (or anyone on the wta) did that? did i say she was a better player overall than serena? geez you people get your panties in a bunch over anything these days. give a player a compliment and people get all up in arms. get a life.

  • By Bayron90, September 14, 2012 @ 10:33 pm

Kvitova is an excellent player as for now.. but she can be the best if she works hard to improve her consistency.. and by that not just merely winning matches as much as possible, she needs to cut down the errors and be as dominant as she can be just like when she’s under pressure. If she faces someone like Serena, Venus or Justine(forget that she’s retiring; just an example of excellent players who can turn around a match when they need the most), its hard to get back into the match.

  • By kelvinpyaeko, September 14, 2012 @ 11:07 pm

‘she hit more aces than Serena’ there you go with your credibility. what a joke!

  • By kelvinpyaeko, September 14, 2012 @ 11:42 pm

it’s actually a scary performance from petra…she definitely has a lot of advantages on fast indoor courts with her groundies..they fly off her racket from both wings with rocket speed :/

  • By djollyboy, September 14, 2012 @ 11:48 pm

lol how can some of you call yourselves tennis fans? each upcoming tennis player is the best to them…

6:47 and look at the place of the wetness…..

To be honest, enough players have proven themselves to be able to stay with her power.

The key issue (with most of them) is their inability to pick off the lefty serve, and more importantly, their inability to mirror the serving coming at them (especially on grass).

All the hard-hitting righties also have to be able to hit an effective slice out wide serve, as well as feel comfortable bombing up the T on the deuce…that’s for starters.

Venus and Serena come to mind

  • By QuadThreat85, September 15, 2012 @ 2:00 am

Not sure which of my comments you’re replying to, but I know she won Wimbledon…I just don’t think she had to work very hard to do so. She went through a whole hoist of players whose grasscourt games just aren’t good enough to even compete. The closest was Sharapova, and we see what happens (and will always happen) when she shows up on court without a serve.

But I don’t think I was ever implying that grass (or any quick surface) does not enhance what Kvitova does well.

  • By iceescape, September 15, 2012 @ 2:49 am

she won wimbledon though; she may be beatable on grass but only by an in form serena and maybe a vintage venus.

  • By iceescape, September 15, 2012 @ 3:35 am

Not everyday you see someone overpower Clijsters like that. Kvitova’s serve was top notch this match; she hit more aces than Serena would on a given day; and that serve out wide is pretty much unreturnable.

  • By jese1975, September 15, 2012 @ 4:20 am

I love love love love love love love love love love love love Kvitova!!!! So refreshing to see a new fierce blood on court that has a nerve of steel that can win big events (exhibit A.Wimbledon)!!!!Having said that I still love my old school girls Serena,Venus, Kim and Maria…. 😉

  • By QuadThreat85, September 15, 2012 @ 4:56 am

and yes…as Petkovic’s game stands right now, it would be hard to win a slam, but it’s hard to see most of these girls winning slams…they all SEEM to need a great draw to progress (I think Kvitova’s road to the Wimbledon championship was slightly weak).

I’m still trying to figure out why everyone has such high hopes for FATTYuchenkova (lol)….maybe that IS her only weakness.

If the WTA becomes the Kvitova show, I’ll be watching men’s tennis. ACTUAL rivalries are imperative!

  • By QuadThreat85, September 15, 2012 @ 5:47 am

Yeah Azarenka’s serve becomes extremely attackable….and I hate to join everyone else in the Wozniacki bashing, but I even give Radwanska more of a chance to do damage than her.

I see you write Venus off (along with like…90% of tennis fans)…and that’s ok….people have written her off practically since day 1 (in large part due to her younger sister).

Venus will prove everyone wrong…she will even erase my slight doubts lol.

  • By morriganblane, September 15, 2012 @ 5:53 am

..I see Petkovic troubling Kvitova but not being a slam winner herself… I don’t know. Out of the girls we have, I think only Pavlyuchenkova is complete and talented enough. But obviously, things can change and new faces can emerge. I hope so, really lol

  • By morriganblane, September 15, 2012 @ 6:24 am

So basically, we agree. lol. I think Stosur is going to stick around for some years, she’s not that old. And I definitely see Serena playing for a couple of years. I’m not sure about the rest, but as a Kvitova fan I hope they stay; it’s more exciting that way, so no problem. We’ll see about her peers…There’s people like Wozniacki or Radwanska whom I just can’t see winning a slam or being a threat to Kvitova in that regard. I’m very skeptical about Azarenka’s serve and forehand…

  • By QuadThreat85, September 15, 2012 @ 6:59 am

Indoors will always suit the flat groundstrokes, so that’s not even up for debate.

however, I see the old guard (the only ones who can keep her jets cooled RIGHT NOW in my opinion), sticking around longer than most think (as well as longer than Kvitova fans hope)…

Long story short, I feel as if by the time Venus, Serena, Clijsters, Li, Stosur, etc. stop playing, her peers will have fully woken up by then.

My word is of course not law….just a gut feeling.
