GOING FOR NUMBER ONE

Petra Kvitova is well known for her left handed shots, as well as for the variety she brings in.  He inimitable style has so far won seven WTA single titles. She is currently world rank number 3, having previously held the number 2 spot back in October 2011.

To name some of her victories, Petra Kvitova won the 2011 Wimbledon Championship and also the WTO 2011 Tour Championship. This victory was essential and important to her as she became the first ever Grand Slam winner who was born in 1990’s.  Not only that she was also only the third player to win the WTA Championship in her first attempt.

Petra Kvitova had a great year in 20111 – she started by winning her second career title at the Brisbane International defeating the famous Andrea Petkovic and also defeating Nadia Petrova. With these wins she earned the title of being World number 28.
